The Globe Printing Company, played an important role in the development and popularization of go-go. Globe, founded in Baltimore MD in 1929, printed posters recognizable for their fluorescent colors and bold wood font type. Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, these posters appeared everywhere in DC. They were on bulletin boards, utility boxes, lamposts throughout all four quadrants andpromoted go-go shows at venues such as Cheriy's and public spaces such as Anacostia Park.
